The Centre for Indigenous Environmental Resources (CIER) is seeking to hire an Indigenous Knowledge & Engagement Coordinator for a contract position. Reporting to CIER and partnering with Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), the Indigenous Knowledge & Engagement Coordinator is responsible for tasks related to the following two areas of work:
- Coordinating engagement with Indigenous communities to support them with Indigenous Knowledge (IK) related work. The Coordinators will also be working with communities to support the braiding of IK into recovery planning documents for the Species at Risk Act (SARA).
- Coordinating terrestrial species at risk related engagements with Indigenous communities in British Columbia, documenting information from these engagements, reporting and maintaining databases.
Location: Work from home, remote: based anywhere in Canada as long as you have access to strong wi-fi and are willing to travel on occasion for in-person meetings (when it is safe to do so).
Eligibility: Although preference will be given to Indigenous applicants (including First Nations, Métis, and Inuit), all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply. Applicants are asked to self-identify.
Effective Date: This contract ends March 31, 2023, with the possibility of an extension.
Salary: Annual salary range is $58,000 to $66,000.
