CIER co-hosted the AquaHacking Prairies program with AquaAction and Alberta Innovates over the past months, and the team is excited to announce that the Grand Finale of the program will take place in Calgary on February 5, 2026.
Since July 2025, five dynamic teams from across the Prairie provinces have been developing innovative solutions to some of the region’s most pressing freshwater issues. They have incorporated Indigenous Knowledge and a Two-Eyed Seeing approach and are gearing up to pitch on the big stage in front of a panel of expert judges.
The Grand Finale is an exciting opportunity to witness the next generation of water-sector start-ups in action. The top three teams will win $35,000 in seed funding. One standout team will receive the $1,000 Two-Eyed Seeing award. And everyone can vote for their favourite team to award them with the $1,000 Public Choice award!
